Wednesday, 25-November-2009 - Veghel - I turned 60 today, and I feel pretty good. The more I think about it, the better I feel. I always did like the sixties.
Saturday, 21-November--2009 - Uden - I looked up and saw a magnificient ringed-neck pheasant in our back yard. I was a warm and sunny morning. I decided to cimb on my mountain bike and see where I ended up. I rode in the direction of the nature park De Maashorst.
I was born in 1949. We lived by a big hickory tree, near a creek on a corner of my grandpa's farm in Amelith, a church community five miles from the edge Bay City, Michigan, USA. I often wondered if this tree was standing when my ancestors Christina Barbara Feinauer and Johann Georg Weiss arrived here from Bavaria one hundred years earlier. See my "Big Hickory Tree" post in this blog.
