Monday, 23-February-2009 - The Prince's brunch is a tradition in Veghel. Marij and I got there early. This year was a real treat, because Prince Jeroen could really sing well.

Carnaval Parade in Veghel
Sunday, 22-February-2009 - Veghel - The parade had already started when I left home on my bicycle. It had rained, but it was dry now. Saw familiar faces, like Sam, the technician who built my MOC PC seven years ago, our plumber and friend, Ad Jilesen, and fun-on-wheels skater friends. Also saw new faces. Lots of people having lots of fun.
PS. Our neighbors and the other "Stappers" shown here won second prize. http://picasaweb.google.com/dale.weiss.planet/Optocht_veghel#

Valentine's Day Rose
Saturday, 14-Februrary-2009 - Veghel - Marij is working today like on most Saturdays. I needed to make sure I got something nice for her before she returned (and before the stores closed).
The Making of Carnval in Veghel
Saturday, 14-February-2009 - Veghel - Got up late on this sunny day. While I was eating breakfast and reading the newspaper, I heard some activity next door. It's a ritual each year the weekend before Carnaval: the making of this year's entry in the Veghel Carnaval Parade. I found Gert and Tineke and crew busily working away. Of course, I may not divulge any secrets until after the parade on 22-Feb. I did take note that a lot of recycling was taking place. According to Gert, one hunderd and one percent!

Indoor Skating
Saturday, 7-February-2009 - Beek en Donk - After AED training, I drove to Beek en Donk for the Fun-on-Wheels indoor skating session. It was my first time on skates since Sinterklaas. Today, brothers Xander and Hylco instructed us. We had a good turnout--12 skaters. That's Xander in the picture. I'm not quite ready for that pose.
CPR and AED Training in Uden
Saturday, 7-February-2009 - Uden - Today I got an up-to-date course from the Uden Heart Safe Foundation http://www.udenhartveilig.nl/ on how to give cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), including the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). In our group, we were all volunteers from the Winter Evening Volleyball League in Uden.
